Following the triumph of last year’s retro third kits designed for five MLS teams, adidas is set to revive the idea for 2025, but this time on a much larger scale.

This season, up to 13 clubs are anticipated to launch vintage-inspired third kits, crafted using elements from their history, retro aesthetics, and regional characteristics.

While only Inter Miami’s version has been officially released, several others have already leaked – and they’re full of bold callbacks.

Here’s what’s surfaced so far:

According to Footy Headlines, Minnesota United’s third kit showcases a vivid, gleaming blue background, enhanced with white and orange details and a complex diamond pattern. The word “Loons” stylishly replaces the sponsor logo at the front with a unique custom typeface.

Folk singer Noah Kahan may have leaked Columbus Crew’s 2025 third kit early, after wearing it on stage during a spring concert. The jersey pays tribute to the club’s early MLS days, bringing back bold block stripes and the original three-man crest.

FC Dallas’s third kit appeared to leak when former player and USMNT defender Chris Richards was spotted wearing it in the crowd during a visit home. The design revives the club’s Dallas Burn identity, featuring orange and black hoops along with the retro name splashed across the front.

New England’s third kit appeared in leaks showcasing a distinct 90s vibe. The design features a diagonal sash and chest stripe, with “Revolution” boldly printed across the front – noticeably without any club badge, adding to the vintage feel.

The San Jose Earthquakes seemingly unveiled their 2025 third kit with the help of NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, who wore the shirt at a recent match. The jersey pays homage to the club’s original 1996 identity as the San Jose Clash, reviving the same chaotic pattern and retro palette.

Nashville SC’s 2025 third kit also surfaced through Footy Headlines. Though simple at first glance, with just the club name on the front – the standout detail is in the sleeves, which are covered in a subtle, dotted denim texture, referencing Tennessee’s iconic fabric legacy.

Seattle Sounders’ leaked third kit is a tribute to their 1994 pre-MLS look. The purple base is paired with teal and bright blue accents, along with a wordmark replacing the sponsor logo and a throwback orca crest last seen in the early 2000s.
