President Trump said Thursday that leading technology companies, including Nvidia, OpenAI and Anthropic, have committed $2.4 billion to help federal agencies advance AI-powered scientific research.
The funding will expand the Genesis Mission to 14 federal agencies spanning the energy, health and space sectors. The Trump administration describes the initiative as an effort to use artificial intelligence to accelerate scientific and technological breakthroughs.
Nvidia is providing the largest contribution, pledging $1 billion. AMD has committed $500 million, while OpenAI will donate $200 million. Anthropic and Google have each pledged $150 million.
“With a $1 billion investment, NVIDIA is putting advanced Super Intelligence in the hands of America’s scientists to accelerate breakthroughs in medicine, energy and materials,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement Thursday.

AMP and Emerald AI have each committed $100 million. AWS, Armada, Crusoe and Micron are contributing $50 million apiece, according to a press release.
The Energy Department launched the Genesis Mission in November 2025.
