ASHLAND, Ohio (WJW) – A co-defendant in a case in which a 6-year-old boy was handcuffed for discipline and attacked by a family dog has been sentenced.

The incident occurred on Aug. 17, 2024, at a Savanna, Ohio, home.

According to prosecutors, the child’s mother, her boyfriend and uncle handcuffed the boy by the ankles and wrists as a form of discipline since the child refused to clean up after the dog.

At some point, the boy slipped and the dog attacked, officials said.

Footage from the local sheriff’s department, seen above, shows deputies providing first aid to the child after the incident.

The child was bitten on the neck and ear and taken to the hospital by helicopter.

Taylor Marvin-Brown is the latest to be sentenced in the case.

Marvin-Brown was sentenced on July 14 on one count of obstructing justice and three counts of complicity in the commission of an offense. Marvin-Brown will serve a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 15 years in prison.

Marvin-Brown will remain in the custody of the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office while waiting to be taken to a state penal receiving institution, court records show.

The child’s mother, 28-year-old Angelina Williams, was sentenced earlier this month to 20-plus years in prison after pleading guilty to seven felony charges, including child endangerment, kidnapping and obstructing justice.

The other defendant and owner of the dog, Robert Michalski, will be sentenced on July 21, court records show.
