CHRIS Martin shared a light-hearted exchange with a couple featured on the kiss cam, right after inadvertently sparking controversy by revealing a tech CEO’s questionable behavior the night before.

A video from Coldplay’s Boston gig on Thursday shows the frontman strumming his guitar before stopping to address a young couple on the screen.

“Okay, now listen, are you a legitimate couple?” he asked, drawing huge laughs from the crowd.

He made sure to double check, asking: “Are you two a legitimate couple?”

To be even more sure, Martin asked if the couple were understanding his question, by following up with: “Do you speak English?”

Users on X flooded the comments under the clip, which so far has gathered two million views.

One person wrote: “He gotta ask before flashing them on screen.”

Another added: “He got PTSD from the previous couple.”

The incident occurred shortly after Martin unintentionally ignited online discussion when Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was shown on the kiss cam with his HR chief, Kristin Cabot, in a cozy situation.

As the camera panned to the duo during Wednesday night’s show, the Viva La Vida singer said: “Oh look at these two.”

Mere seconds later, Byron — who is wed — swiftly removed his arm from Cabot and discreetly hid behind a barrier, as she concealed her face with her hands.

Martin then delivered the now-famous zinger: “Oh what… either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”

The TikTok clip has since racked up over 46 million views and sparked intense backlash online, with social media users accusing Byron of cheating and rallying behind his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron.

Supporters praised Megan for quietly removing “Byron” from her name on Facebook before deleting her account altogether.

Her Instagram also vanished.

One X user wrote: “What a class act! Go Megan. Get that divorce lawyer and get the money.”

Another added: “She deserves so much better.”

The Coldplay fan who filmed the jaw-dropping moment has told The U.S. Sun she never meant to cause a scandal – but stands by sharing the footage.

She said: “I had no idea who the couple was. Just thought I caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it.

“A part of me feels bad for turning these people’s lives upside down, but, play stupid games… win stupid prizes.”

Even longer footage has since dropped, showing the full reaction of panicked “mistress” Kristen Cabot.

Byron has been CEO of Astronomer – valued at over $1.3billion – since July 2023.

Cabot, who goes by Kristin Cabot Thornby on LinkedIn, joined as Chief People Officer nine months ago.

When Cabot was appointed, Byron called her a “proven leader” with “exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management.”

Cabot previously boasted on her LinkedIn profile that she “wins trust with employees of all levels, from CEOs to managers to assistants.”

The pair have yet to publicly comment on the viral incident.

The Sun has approached Astronomer for comment.

Meanwhile, fake apology statements — falsely attributed to Byron and Coldplay — have flooded social media, with one viral hoax even claiming the band would introduce “camera-free audience sections for people and their sidepieces.”

One man also claimed he was fired from Astronomer for buying the Coldplay tickets that allegedly exposed the affair — though that, too, appears unverified.
