Three workers have been injured, with one crushed between two trucks, during an alleged theft at a western Sydney business.

A man has been arrested after the theft of a truck at a business in Austral before 8.50am.

Officers were told an employee at the business was crushed between two trucks during the alleged theft and was taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Two other employees were treated for cuts and bruising allegedly suffered in the incident.

Police were patrolling on Luddenham Road in Luddenham at 8.50am when they allegedly saw the vehicle.

They attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver allegedly did not stop.

Police chased the truck along Elizabeth Drive, Luddenham Road, Mamre Road and onto the M4 Motorway.

According to officers, the vehicle executed a U-turn at Russell Street in Penrith and proceeded eastbound on the M4. The driver eventually halted because of the dense traffic.

The alleged driver, a 51-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.
