VTuber agency VShojo shuts down after talent exodus

VShojo has failed and I’ve mismanaged the company into the situation you’re all witnessing.

So today I am sharing the difficult news that VShojo is shutting down, and I take full responsibility for the decisions that led us to this point.

I have been doing everything possible to raise funds and get things back on track over the last few months. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, our situation has worsened, and those close to me are now bearing the consequences.

In recent years, we accumulated approximately $11 million to implement an ambitious, talent-focused approach in VTubing, emphasizing creators and community over immediate profits for long-term viability. The funds were directly funneled to our creators through favorable splits, debut funding, infrastructure, shows, events, and a unique creator-first agency model. Sadly, despite our endeavors, the business couldn’t generate the revenue required to sustain this model, ultimately depleting our finances.

Moreover, I recognize that some of the funds the company utilized were gathered in association with talent activity, which I came to understand was meant for a charitable cause. At that period, we were fervently seeking additional investment capital to manage our expenses, and I sincerely believed, with the information at hand, that we would achieve that and meet all financial obligations. Unfortunately, our fundraising attempts failed. I decided to pursue the funding path and accept full responsibility for its impacts.

I am deeply sorry to all the talents, staff, friends, and community members who believed in our brand. You did not deserve this.
