OFFICIALS at a well-known coffee company have issued a recall for one of its products due to concerns that food coloring might have contaminated the cups.

Consumers are advised to inspect their purchases and dispose of the potentially affected product.

New Mexico Pinon Coffee products are available at stores like Walmart and Target, and the company has recalled its single-serve pods.

It’s feared ink may have seeped into the product.

The product that has been recalled is its Single Serve box of 10 cups.

And, it has a best by date of May 2026.

More than 150 units of the product have been impacted.

The recall was issued on June 20 and bosses at the Food and Drug Administration revealed why they issued the order.

It appears that there was a production fault, according to the FDA.

This meant a clear coat seal for lids didn’t get applied consistently.

And, this caused the ink to run when exposed to high temperatures.

Bosses at New Mexico Pinon Coffee issued the recall out of an “abundance of caution.”

And, they’ve stressed that only one product has been recalled.

Shoppers who bought the product should either throw it out, or go back to their local store for a refund.

The FDA have classified the recall as a Class III.

This means that consuming the product isn’t likely to pose a serious health risk.
