CHICAGO A search is underway for a two-month-old puppy named Peter, who was stolen from the Anti-Cruelty Society’s facility Sunday evening.

Peter, a black Dachshund mix weighing approximately 12.5 pounds, was taken under unknown circumstances.

Staff say the young puppy requires specialized care due to his age, and they are deeply concerned about his safety.

Peter is microchipped with the number #982091068230772, which could help authorities confirm his identity if located.

The Chicago Police Department is involved in the investigation and assisting with search efforts.

“Peter is just a baby and needs care and attention. We are doing everything we can to bring him back safely,” a spokesperson from Anti-Cruelty said in a statement.

Anyone who may have seen Peter or has information on his whereabouts should call 311 or send an anonymous tip by texting “CPD” to 274637.
