Pep Guardiola has switched up his style – and Manchester City fans are loving the new ‘Ted Lasso’ energy.

As Manchester City gears up for a short pre-season, Guardiola was seen at Barcelona’s Monarka Clinic, renowned for its state-of-the-art recovery treatments. Yet, it wasn’t the clinic that drew attention—Pep had swapped out his iconic beard for a moustache, showcasing a freshly shaven look.

This change in appearance quickly ignited comparisons to the much-loved fictional coach played by Jason Sudeikis in Apple TV’s “Ted Lasso”—a series in which Pep himself had made a guest appearance.

A Manchester City supporter humorously remarked: “Pep Guardiola now sports a ‘Ted Lasso-inspired’ moustache as he looks to improve after Manchester City’s challenging previous season.”

Another chimed in, quoting Lasso’s iconic line: “I believe” – perfectly capturing the hope behind Pep’s bold new style and fresh start.

Guardiola’s cameo on “Ted Lasso” came during the penultimate episode of Season 3.

During a touching encounter following a fictional match between AFC Richmond and City, Guardiola advised Sudeikis’s character: “Wins or losses matter less; the key is helping these players become the best version of themselves both on and off the field. That’s what truly counts in the end.”

Lasso replied: “I couldn’t agree more, coach.”

Reflecting on his cameo experience, Pep expressed: “My wife and little daughter Valentina are huge fans of the show, so as a family, we enjoy it a lot. When the opportunity for a cameo came up, I thought, why not? It was a pleasure to meet the cast.”

With a fresh ’stache and a whole lot of optimism, Pep is ready to bring that same spirit to City’s next chapter.
