Verdict Reachd in James Craig Murder Trial, ‘Family Man’ Dentist Who Poisoned Mom-of-6 Wife

A verdict has been reached in the murder trial against James Craig, a former Colorado dentist accused of killing his wife in 2023.

An Arapahoe County jury spent nine hours deliberating before finding Craig guilty of murder, alongside five other charges. These included two counts of solicitation to commit evidence tampering, two counts of solicitation to commit perjury, and one count of solicitation of first-degree murder, according to 9 News.

The affidavit revealed that an office manager at Craig’s dental practice informed the police that Craig routinely prepared protein shakes for Angela each morning prior to their workouts.

After drinking the shakes, Angela often felt faint and subsequently ended up in an emergency room at UCHealth.

Angela, a 43-year-old mother of six, passed away on March 18, 2023.

During closing arguments, the prosecution contended that Craig had meticulously plotted his wife’s demise as a way to escape their 23-year marriage and pursue relationships with other women.

“He suddenly realizes he needs to go buy 12 bottles of eye drops? Give me a break,” prosecutor Michael Mauro said.

The defense, on the other hand, proposed that Angela might have had suicidal tendencies. Yet, witnesses, including loved ones, testified that Angela never hinted at suicide and cherished her children, frequently discussing future plans with them.

Prosecutors cited Angela’s journal entries, indicating her distress over Craig’s infidelity but no inclination towards taking her own life.

“These entries depict Angela Craig as a profoundly thoughtful, resilient, and hopeful individual — enduring Craig’s betrayals since 2009,” Mauro remarked.

Craig was found not guilty on one charge of manslaughter – cause or aid suicide, as Angela had not been suicidal.
