A new street gang is allegedly recruiting children to carry out shootings and home invasions on behalf of high-profile feuding gangs in Sydney.

The group, dubbed G7, is allegedly comprised of more than 30 men and teenagers from south-western Sydney who have been responsible for a string of crimes across the city.

“Including public place shootings, malicious woundings, home invasions, stealing motor vehicles, plus firearms offences and drug offences,” Taskforce Falcon Commander Detective Superintendent Jason Box told reporters this afternoon.

Box alleged that the members are committing these offences on behalf of gangs, including the alleged Alameddine crime network, for money.

They have allegedly staged 17 vehicles to be used as part of the broader gangland wars.

Box alleged the group is recruiting children via connections, word of mouth and social media.

Box said no one has died as a result of the G7’s alleged actions, but ”they’ve come close”.

“There was one occasion, there was over 40 shots fired in the two premises, missing the occupants by centimetres,” he said.

“Someone was stabbed as a result of their actions, and that person could have been killed.”

The investigation was then escalated under Taskforce Falcon.
