Manhunt intensifies for Army veteran suspected of killing 4 in bar shooting after truck found abandoned

Law enforcement officials on the hunt for an Army veteran accused of killing at least four individuals in Montana on Friday morning have found the white Ford F-150 allegedly used by the suspect for escape, but the individual remains at large.

The suspect in the shootings has been identified by the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center as 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown from Anaconda. Officials noted on Friday that Brown is considered armed and dangerous.

Brown was last seen in the Stumptown area, which is west of Anaconda, the law enforcement center said.

Authorities shared a photograph of Brown on Saturday, depicting him walking down what looked like a set of outdoor concrete steps, without shoes or a shirt.

With no sightings of the Army veteran with the white truck or at his residence, authorities concentrated their efforts on the Stumptown Road area to the west of Anaconda both by land and air on Friday, sealing off the area to prevent any entry or exit. The lockdown was lifted by Saturday.

The Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) advised residents not to approach Brown if they spot him. Instead, residents should contact 911 immediately. Brown is described as having a height of 5-foot-10, weighing around 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.

Although authorities have identified all four individuals who fell victim to the shooting on Friday, their names will not be disclosed until relatives have been fully informed, and as stated by DCI, when “the time is appropriate.”

Brown was an armor crewman in the Army from January 2001 to May 2005 and served in the National Guard from April 2006 to March 2008, Army Public Affairs confirmed to Fox News Digital. He deployed to Iraq from February 2004 to March 2005 and left the service with the rank of sergeant.

He also served as an armor crewman in the Montana National Guard from April 2006 to March 2009, officials said.
