McCloskeys win back AR-15 rifle 5 years after Black Lives Matter protest confrontation

The St. Louis couple who became widely known in 2020 for displaying firearms as Black Lives Matter demonstrators walked by their residence have reclaimed their semiautomatic rifle.

Following a prolonged and intricate legal effort to retrieve their weapons, which were confiscated by authorities over five years ago, police have returned the AR-15 to St. Louis attorneys Mark and Patricia McCloskey.

“It only took 3 lawsuits, 2 trips to the Court of Appeals and 1,847 days, but I got my AR15 back!” Mark McCloskey wrote on his X account on Friday, accompanied by several photos of him holding the firearm.

“We defended our home, were persecuted by the left, smeared by the press, and threatened with death, but we never backed down.”

In 2021, the McCloskeys admitted to misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault and second-degree harassment but were subsequently pardoned by former Missouri Gov. Mike Parson.

Recently, a Missouri appeals court validated the clearing of the McCloskeys’ misdemeanor records, which, as per state law, signifies that the event is considered as though it never occurred, according to Mark McCloskey.

“If you’ve been wronged, if you’ve been overreached by the leftist government — you can’t give up,” Mark McCloskey expressed to Fox News Digital. “You can’t let them get an inch.”

The St. Louis Sheriff’s Office and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
