Trump Floats Tariff Revenue-Funded Rebate for Middle, Low-Income Earners

ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania — President Donald Trump is considering a potential rebate for middle and low-income earners, fueled by the significant revenue flowing into the Treasury due to his tariff policies.

While preparing to board Air Force One toward Joint Base Andrews, Trump spoke to reporters about the possibility of issuing a rebate to Americans, noting the Treasury’s substantial intake of $29.6 billion in July.

Trump first emphasized that paying down the national debt is a top priority, but was open to tariff-funded dividends for the American people.

“We are planning to reduce our debt. We have enormous funds coming in, more than the nation has ever witnessed, by hundreds of billions of dollars. There could be a distribution or dividend to the people of our nation,” he stated.

“For middle and lower-income individuals, a dividend might be possible, but debt reduction is also a priority,” he added. “We have a flood of hundreds of billions coming into our country now. This should have been done years ago.”

Trump highlighted that despite critics expecting his tariff policies to spur inflation, these measures were initiated during his first term. However, the pandemic delayed further plans.

“I initiated it with China in my first term. Progress halted with COVID because approaching France, Spain, and Italy about tariffs became unfeasible. China was paying us significant amounts in tariffs, and we implemented it then. Biden then mismanaged everything … Every move he made went wrong.”

Trump first floated a tariff revenue-funded rebate late last month while speaking with reporters at the White House before departing for his Scotland trip.
