(NewsNation) — Kia has issued two recalls within a week for more than 300,000 of its vehicles due to loose parts.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued two separate notices regarding a recall affecting certain Kia models. The recall involves 201,149 Telluride models from years 2023 to 2025 due to defective door belt moldings and 100,063 K5 models from the same years because of issues with window trim detachment.

Owners of the Telluride models might find that the door belt molding trims could become loose and eventually detach. These trims are the long, narrow strips along the top edge of the vehicle’s door where the window glass meets the metal frame.

K5 models are also at risk of similar problems, specifically with their C-pillar garnish face plates, which are decorative panels near the rear windows. Kia has cited a supplier quality issue as the reason for the potential loosening and detachment of this component.

The loose parts could be a hazard for other drivers and cause crashes, the NHTSA said in the notices.

The NHTSA advises Kia owners to visit their nearest Kia dealership to receive a complimentary inspection and replacement of the faulty parts. Vehicle owners will be informed via notification letters, which are set to be mailed on September 26.
