'Trump is wrong' about Epstein files: Alan Dershowitz

() President Trump’s administration might have thought that dealing with Russia would be a way to distract from the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein investigation. But Tuesday, the GOP put its leaders right back in the muck of the saga.

This latest development has Alan Dershowitz, Epstein’s former lawyer, and Chris Sununu, former New Hampshire governor, agreeing that at some point, all the information is going to come out.

Asked on “CUOMO” why Trump won’t just let the investigation proceed, Dershowitz said, “He’s wrong. I don’t know why he isn’t leading the campaign to put things out.”

“I know what’s in the files. There’s nothing in there that is incriminating as far as I know about Donald Trump.”

The House GOP announced it was issuing subpoenas to many of Trump’s enemies, including former President Bill Clinton and Hilary Clinton, as well as James Comey and Merrick Garland, concerning the files.

Speaking of Clinton, Dershowitz believes he has no part in the files. He recalled being at the home of Caroline Kennedy with Clinton when the latter spoke with Epstein.

“I can testify that Bill Clinton knew Jeffrey Epstein. Knew him well enough to have a 15-minute call, way before any of these allegations came out.”

“But there’s nothing in the file to suggest he did anything wrong, whether he was ever on the island, that he ever had anything or did anything improper. But, everybody wants to point fingers.”

Dershowitz insisted that Epstein had no client list, despite what the Trump administration says.

He feels the investigation won’t go away until the government goes in front of the three judges who sealed the material of the unreleased files.

“That’s where the details are, that’s where the accusations are,” he said.
