A cryptocurrency enthusiast accused of torturing an Italian millionaire with a chainsaw turned on his accomplice and pleaded to contact his mother soon after being apprehended.

John Woeltz, 37, was dragged out of his luxury New York apartment by cops back in May.

It came after the victim was reportedly able to escape the $40,000-a-month apartment on Prince Street.

The victim had told investigators he was Woeltz’s former partner, but their relationship had soured and he had gone back to Italy.

However, newly released court documents have exposed the dramatic consequences following the crypto enthusiast’s arrest – which involved him being pulled out of his residence barefoot and dressed in a bathrobe.

Woeltz, originally from Kentucky, quickly gave up the name of his associate William Duplessie that afternoon, the New York Post has reported.

He told a detective: “My partner is William Duplessie. We have attorneys but I don’t know them.”

According to Manhattan Supreme Court papers, Woeltz added: “He’s from here, he’s from New York.

“We live in the same house. Yes, he wasn’t there this morning.”

The documents further show him turning down officers’ offer of free pizza and bragging that he had “detective friends”.

The crypto bro repeatedly asked to speak to his lawyer, and then asked to talk to his mother.

While being interviewed by a detective, he said: “I’d love a lawyer, or phone call, or something, but thank you, no pizza.

“I’d love to understand why I’m here.

“I’ve been here so many hours, I haven’t been able to call a lawyer or my detective friends, I’ve been able to call nobody.”

A few minutes after his, he revealed the name of his partner and asked for an attorney.

He reportedly begged: “Can I get a phone call? Call my mom, and she can write it down.

His arrest came after the Italian millionaire managed to escape from the apartment.

Woeltz had allegedly been sadistically torturing the captive.

According to investigators, he tied up the victim with electrical cords and used electrocutions to torture him.

He also allegedly tased him with his feet in water and threatened to cut his limbs off with a chainsaw.

Woeltz even reportedly took Polaroids of the victim being tortured, according to cops.

He was charged with two counts of assault, kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and criminal possession of a firearm.

The court records further show that Woeltz told officers he was confused why he had been taken in.

He said: “I don’t know what triggered you all coming out here but I know it sucks.”

Woeltz further said he had been sleeping when cops stormed his apartment and that he worked in “cybersecurity”.
