Homicide squad detectives are investigating a suspicious death in Perth‘s southern suburbs.

A man in his 60s was discovered unresponsive in the parking lot of a pub in Cockburn Central on Friday night.

Shadowy figures were captured on CCTV congregating in the parking area of the Local House Bar and Grill.

The footage skips, showing the group surrounding a man on the ground.

Emergency services received calls around 11.40pm, reporting the man had suffered severe head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide squad detectives today cordoned off Argong Chase as they searched the area for clues.

The Local House Bar and Grill was recently renovated and remains a popular venue for residents of Cockburn Central.

The venue had already closed for the night when the man was found.

A manager told 9News he understands whatever happened was contained to the carpark.
