Fans celebrate Tampa Bay Buccaneers preseason opener

Fans descended upon Raymond James Stadium Saturday night, decked out in their finest red, black, white, and orange gear, for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ preseason home opener.

“We’re Buccaneer fans through and through,” enthused Kalvin Munlyn from Lakeland. “As season ticket holders, our support is unwavering. Let’s go Bucs!”

The Bucs started their preseason with a face-off against the Tennessee Titans.

“This is a crucial time for the young players to step up and secure their spots on the team,” noted Robert Keith, a veteran season ticket holder of 15 years. “It sets the tone for what we can expect in the upcoming season.”

Though outcomes of games during the preseason do not count, for some fans, Saturday’s opener was the beginning of a family tradition.

“The most… the most ‘dad proud moment’ is to be able to bring my oldest son to his very first game,” said Donnie Swancie.

Fans could not contain their excitement for the entire season with hopes to make it all the way to the end.

James Berger expressed high hopes, saying, “This is the year for the Bucs. With our offense revitalized and a robust defense, I’m eager to see them triumph and make it all the way to the Super Bowl.”

The Buc’s next preseason game will be Aug. 16 at Acrisure Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The team will then play the Buffalo Bills at home Aug. 23.
