LOS ANGELES – A group of masked thieves stole about $7,000 worth of Labubu dolls from a Los Angeles-area store this week, authorities said.

According to the LA County Sheriff’s Department, an incident occurred early Wednesday morning at a La Puente store, located roughly 18 miles (29 kilometers) east of Los Angeles. The suspects were reported to have used a stolen Toyota Tacoma, which was located soon after the event. The department is currently investigating and has not released further details.

Labubu dolls, designed by the Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung, have become highly sought-after collectibles since their inception over a decade ago, featuring their signature toothy design.

In an Instagram update, One Stop Sales, a toy seller, stated that the perpetrators cleared out the store’s stock and caused significant damage. Surveillance video shared by the store depicts a group of individuals clad in hoodies and masks breaking into the premises, rifling through merchandise, and removing boxes of goods.

“We are still in shock,” the store said in its post, urging people to help find the thieves.
