Aurora, IL shooting today: 2 shot, police investigating domestic dispute shooting suspect in 500 Station Boulevard on Sunday

AURORA, Ill. (WLS) — Two men were shot amid a domestic dispute in Aurora on sunday. Police were searching for the suspected shooter.

The shooting happened at about 6:08 a.m. in the 500-block of Station Boulevard, police said.

Police said the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute. There is no threat to the public.

One of the men injured was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.

The other victim was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatning injuries, police said.

A large police presence was seen in the area. Naperville police were also seen at the apartment complex.

The suspect was described to be about 6 feet tall with thin build in his mid-20s, wearing all black with black hair, police said.

Police did not say if the suspect was armed.

Witness Scott Fisher told ABC7 he heard at least 12 gunshots at about 6 a.m.

Fisher added that he saw the alleged shooter run into a nearby wooded area.

He said a young woman exited the apartments screaming “Where is my boy? Where is my baby?”

“The next thing I know they are pulling out a body from behind these bushes,” the witness said.

Metra anounced service to BNSF inbound and outbound trains were stopped near Route 59.

A BNSF inbound extra train scheduled to arrive Chicago Union Station will accommodate passengers from Route 59 to Chicago.

BNSF trains numbered 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2010 are suspended due to police activity near Route 59. However, Metra announced that trains #2011 and #2012 will be available to accommodate passengers.
