This marks the 136th homicide case that a First Coast Crime Stoppers tip has helped solve.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An anonymous tip played a crucial role in leading to the arrest of one suspect involved in the 2024 shooting that resulted in the death of a security guard at a business on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to First Coast Crime Stoppers.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrest records show that Quraan Goodman, 25, was taken into custody on July 22 for the fatal shooting of Ronald Matthews, which occurred in October 2024 at the Dragon Arcade.

Two others are facing murder charges in connection with the shooting.

The report details that on October 3, 2024, two masked individuals entered the premises and opened fire, hitting Matthews and two other individuals present. Matthews succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Authorities have stated that Goodman, along with three additional suspects, attempted to rob the Dragon Arcade during the incident. Police identified two of the suspects as Petrios Britt Jr., Cheneta Duffy, along with an individual referred to as “Lil Jackie,” who is still at large.

The documents note that Britt, believed by investigators to have been the getaway driver, and Goodman were apprehended shortly after the incident for unrelated offenses. After discussions with police, Britt faced charges of second-degree murder concerning Matthews’ death.

At the time, the report states that investigators did not have any evidence connecting Goodman to the crime.

In November 2024, Duffy was arrested in Pasco County and charged with second-degree murder in Matthews’ death.

Furthermore, a source linked to Britt pointed out Goodman as one of the suspects involved. This source informed investigators that Britt, Goodman, and another suspect had lost “a substantial sum” while gambling and hatched a plan to rob the Dragon Arcade, as per the report.

During the investigation, First Coast Crime Stoppers received multiple tips about the shooting, including one stating that one of the suspects involved was Goodman.

Investigators said cellphone records confirmed Goodman, Duffy and Britt were in the area of the crime scene the night before the shooting. Both Britt and Duffy then identified Goodman as one of the suspects involved in the shooting.

“The tip, provided by a concerned citizen who trusted First Coast Crime Stoppers’ guarantee of complete anonymity, gave investigators the break they needed to locate and apprehend Goodman nine months after the crime,” Executive Director Chase Robinson said. “Without this information, the suspect might still be at large.”

This marks the 136th homicide case that a First Coast Crime Stoppers tip has helped solve.

Goodman faces charges of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assult, armed burglary with assault or battery and attempted armed robbery.

Anyone with information about criminal activity can contact First Coast Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-866-845-TIPS, via www.FCCrimeStoppers.com, or through the P3 Tips mobile app. Tipsters may qualify for a cash reward.
