Neighbor from hell arrested after blasting ear-splitting train horns

A neighbor from hell called the police ‘scum’ as he was arrested for repeatedly blasting an ear-splitting horn from the roof of his house.

The Daily Mail captured the dramatic apprehension of Gary Boyadzhian, 50, outside his residence on Peach Avenue in Van Nuys, a district of Los Angeles, on Wednesday evening.

Clad in a white polo shirt and olive-colored pants, he started cursing and shouting after being handcuffed by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department shortly after 7 pm.

They could be heard telling him that he was being arrested for disturbing the peace with the horn.

He yelled back: ‘What peace? Tell me what peace I’m disturbing? You guys are scum!’

The suspect was then driven in a squad car approximately two miles to Van Nuys police station.

Captain Christopher Zine, Van Nuys Area Commanding Officer, confirmed exclusively to the Daily Mail that Boyadzhian was taken into custody for disturbing the peace.

Zine said the department will continue to monitor the excessive noise and train horns at the 6600 block of Peach Avenue.

‘We are also coordinating with the City Attorney‘s Office, along with other City and Department entities to effectively deal with both the administrative and criminal facets of this incident.’

Boyadzhian has been firing off the horn up to three times a day.

Just before his arrest, the mechanic, who owns a Porsche Cayenne SUV, informed the Daily Mail he was sounding the horn to capture law enforcement’s attention because the father of an ex-girlfriend was menacing him.

‘I want justice served,’ he said, speaking outside his two-bedroom, two-bathroom house.

He added he was involved in an ongoing dispute with the father of a woman he dated decades ago.

Regarding the racket produced by the horns attached to a tree in his backyard, Boyadzhian mentioned he would persist in sounding them until authorities act to assist him.

‘I do apologize for the neighbors,’ he added. ‘I’m sincerely sorry i would be uncomfortable too.

‘The noise is really loud but my life is in danger. I’m not paranoid, I’m not crazy I’m not psycho.’

Boyadzhian also claimed that he has an 18-year-old daughter who was taken away from him by authorities and has not seen since 2013.

The Daily Mail is choosing not to name his daughter or the man he accused of threatening him.

Family members arrived at the Boyadzhian’s home shortly after his arrest.

His mother told the Daily Mail he was suffering from ‘major depression.’

Goarik Boyadzhian, 72, said the condition worsened after a girlfriend her son dated for six years broke up with him son at the end of last year.

Mrs Boyadzhian was already heading to his home to talk with him about seeing a doctor and to discuss taking medication.

She said she was ‘surprised’ to hear of his arrest from officers on scene when she arrived shortly after.

‘Because of his depression he doesn’t understand what he’s doing,’ she added.

Neighbor Bob Donovan, 77, said of the daily noise disturbance which been disturbing the area for months: ‘I’ve known Gary for many, many years. I always got along very well with him.

‘He was a good guy but he’s really lost it in the last five or six years. He’s become worse in the last two years. It’s really bad.

‘He doesn’t seem to be cognizant and aware of his surroundings.

‘He does strange things. The guy will work on a car or mow his lawn at 2 a.m. in the morning.

‘He does it to irritate the neighbors. He says it’s to bring attention to his plight. He’s nuts.’

Jim Phipps, 62, lives opposite Boyadzhian with his wife, Bernarda, also 62. The couple have endured the disturbances along with the rest of the street.

He said the horns are set off daily ‘like clockwork’ which he described as a ‘total pain in the a**.’
