A woman is wanted by Pennsylvania authorities for allegedly punching another woman in the face in a violent road rage attack.

Imeera Burnett, 21, faces an assault charge, according to Delaware County, Pennsylvania, court records. The underlying incident occurred on Monday.

On Monday evening, drivers were navigating through Upper Darby Township, reportedly near the 69th Street Transit Center, when a “road rage assault” took place, as revealed by the Upper Darby Police Department. This announcement was made on Wednesday, urging the public to assist in locating Burnett.

According to Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt, the alleged victim was driving when another car abruptly cut in front of her, prompting her to honk the horn, as reported by the Philadelphia-based ABC affiliate WPVI.

This vehicle – a Dodge Charger – was allegedly driven by Burnett, and she is said to have pulled over following the sound of the horn.

Bernhardt explained, “The suspect exited the driver’s side, approached the victim’s car window, and punched her face.” He mentioned that the suspect was eventually pulled back into the car by a passenger. The vehicle left the scene, but not before the victim managed to photograph the license plate.

“You need to come forward,” Bernhardt urged Burnett. “Your emotions got the better of you, and now you have to face the consequences for this assault.”

The woman who was allegedly punched “sustained a facial injury,” police said. However, her injuries were not severe, the TV station reported.

In the Pennsylvania court records, a person with the same name and birth date as Burnett is noted, with a criminal past including charges such as theft, resisting arrest, and other accusations of simple assault.
