DONALD Trump has been caught on a hot mic revealing if he really believes Vladimir Putin will agree to a peace deal.

The US President was observed having a discussion with Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, just before a summit took place at the White House with some of Ukraine’s key allies.

The East Room soon became a gathering place for European leaders, American diplomats, and journalists, during which a private conversation between Trump and the French leader was overheard.

Macron appears at first to thank Trump for his peace efforts and for hosting the latest round of talks in Washington.

Seconds later, Trump says: “I will set up a trilat”.

A trilateral meeting between Trump, Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky has been noted as a top priority t help end the war by all involved.

Earlier, Trump had informed reporters and Ukraine’s President Zelensky that he planned to call the Russian leader to propose a three-way discussion by the day’s end.

As the general chit-chat continues to flood the White House walls, Trump makes another stark revelation to Macron.

He can be heard saying: “I think he wants to make a deal. I think he wants to make a deal for me.

“You understand that? As crazy as that sounds.”

Trump appears to be referencing Putin with the comment as he also said he had spoken to Vlad indirectly earlier in the day.

Another of Trump’s hot mic moments came as he spoke with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Zelensky didn’t really need the Europeans with him to meet Trump at the White House – they were a mere sideshow

Pointing towards Stubb, Trump was overheard telling Meloni “he’s a very good golfer you know”.

To which Meloni replied: “I know, I know. But he says you always win.”

The two conversations followed a seemingly positive day for future peace talks.

Trump vowed to “secure” Ukraine as he hosted a string of powerful world leaders.

The US President outlined security guarantees as he declared the “war is going to end”.

Trump and Zelensky kicked off the summit with a friendly handshake before heading into the Oval Office for one-on-one talks.

Trump addressed the reporters stating: “The conflict is going to be resolved. This man here wants it to conclude, Vladimir Putin desires its resolution, the entire world is weary of it, and we will bring it to a close.”

Wearing a black military-style outfit, Zelensky nodded in agreement as Trump spoke, then expressed his willingness to meet with the Russian leader and agree on a peace settlement.

An upbeat Zelensky started the talks by directly thanking Trump and the US for their role in peace talks.

He also handed President Trump a letter from his own wife intended for Melania Trump.

Zelensky went on to say: “We need to stop this war to stop Russia, and we need support, American and European partners.

“We will do our best with this. We show that we are strong people and we supported the idea of President Trump to stop this war.”

These remarks were echoed by all seven European leaders who spoke with Trump following his Zelensky talks.

The presidents of France, Finland, Germany, and Italy, along with NATO and EU leaders, asserted their constant support for Ukraine and emphasized that the dispute with Russia needs to be concluded.

Each one called for security guarantees and said a meeting with Putin and Zelensky must come next.

Trump agreed with the calls and said he hopes for “long-term” peace.

The frontline around the city of Vuhledar, a strategic rail and road hub south of Bakhmut, resembles an apocalyptic scenario. Destroyed buildings and burned cars are scattered at both sides of the road. There, hidden on basements of abandoned houses, the Ukrainian Volunteer Army hold their positions against relentless attacks by Russian forces. Under the threat of the enemyâs artillery, that echoes through the village, soldiers hold their fortified positions in shifts of 12h.
