A Georgia teenager, aged 17, charged as an adult for allegedly murdering her mother and stepfather, has been refused bond. The young girl, who reportedly shared TikToks about the deceased couple, one captioned “should prob delete later,” received support from acquaintances who wore “I Stand with Sarah” shirts.

One advocate, Carrie Jensen, who has known Sarah Grace Patrick from Tyus since she was in seventh grade, argued against the charges, stating, “It’s not in her nature or character to hurt anyone.”

“Throughout many painful moments, I have comforted her, and her love for her family never faltered,” Jensen testified during Patrick’s bond hearing. “She’d never do anything to harm them; her only intention is to protect them.”

Patrick was apprehended on July 8 for the February deaths of her mother, Kristin Brock, and stepfather, James Brock, after her biological father handed her over to authorities. On February 20, law enforcement discovered the Brocks dead in their home following a 911 call allegedly placed by Patrick, reporting her 6-year-old sister found the bodies.

During Tuesday’s bond hearing, the teen appeared both smiling and tearful, allegedly having taken to social media after the deaths to make posts about them and her life, expressions she later regretted.

“Take me back to the beach rn,” Patrick allegedly wrote in the caption of a June 30 post accompanying a purported video of her at the beach posted on her personal TikTok account, @sgrace04282, which Law&Crime confirmed to be hers with local police.

“If you asked me about my mom and step dad, I’d say I miss them so much,” Patrick allegedly wrote in a text overlay of a photo of herself on May 17, which was featured in a collage post showing images of the Brocks and Patrick’s younger sister, who cops say found the couple’s bodies.

“But if you were to ask me on a deeper level, I’d tell you that I just wanna go home,” the teen allegedly said in text overlays for the other pictures. “I feel so home sick and I miss them so much I can’t stand the fact I can’t see them anymore this sucks more than anything possible. I feel like I’m in a horror movie that never ends. And on top of everything I still have no answers, im so confused on how someone could’ve done this and even more confuse on why. Why them? Why that? Just why. How could they.”

The post is captioned, “Should prob delete later.”

Police officials told Law&Crime in July that they were made aware of the account and confirmed that it belongs to Patrick. The teen has been charged as an adult with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. She was ordered to be held Tuesday after testimony was provided by relatives of the Brocks, in addition to Patrick’s friends and church associates.

“I have become their voice as they no longer have one,” said Kim Bowling, sister of James Brock.

“I would like to share how this brutal tragedy has affected me,” she told the court. “I not only lost my brother but also my sister-in-law in the most horrific horrific way imaginable. Every night I lie awake unable to sleep haunted by the thought of what my brother Jamie and Kristen may have experienced in those final moments.”

Bowling described fearing that her brother was “awake” when Patrick allegedly entered their room with a gun and started blasting, leading to her 5-year-old niece finding them.

“I imagine their terror in their final breaths,” Bowling said, crying. “My 5-year-old niece was then woke up — woke up — to find their parents lifeless. The trauma this innocent child will carry for the rest of her life is unfathomable. And what makes this even more heartbreaking is that her sister loved [Patrick]. She looked up to her and for reasons I will never, never understand [Patrick] caused such unimaginable pain.”

Bowling and others told the court they felt Patrick was a “flight risk” and should be held without bond. “The defendant has shown a pattern of intimidation towards family members and others with knowledge of the crime,” Bowling said. “I fear that if she’s released, she will continue this behavior .”

Patrick’s supporters, meanwhile, repeatedly sang her praises and asked for Patrick’s release while wearing the “I Stand with Sarah” shirts, with a local pastor even speaking at one point. The judge appeared to be having none of it.

“This is not daytime court TV and this is not for entertainment,” said Judge Jeffrey Hightower, who denied Patrick’s request for release. “We’re here to simply apply the law… and I’m going to do that to the best of my ability.”

Patrick was given a trial date of Jan. 5, 2026.
