A Kentucky woman’s smiling mugshot has gained attention online after she reportedly expressed feeling “stressed out” while allegedly inflicting significant damage to her ex-boyfriend’s car.

Stephanie Carlquist, 31, is accused of pouring salt into the vehicle’s engine and glitter into its air vents, as well as slashing a tire, cracking the rearview mirror and windshield, and damaging the radio screen, as detailed in a criminal complaint acquired by Fox News Digital.

She faces charges of first-degree felony criminal mischief. Jail records show she posted a $12,000 bail and has been released while awaiting her upcoming arraignment.

“All I did was put glitter in the air vents and damage the windshield,” she is alleged to have stated. “He was overdue for oil and motor maintenance and everything else. Oh, and the tire.”

She also offered to pay for the damages and to give her ex-boyfriend her vehicle, according to the complaint.

Carlquist, who is pregnant, said she was “stressed out” when she caused the damage.

Her father stepped in to try to avoid his daughter being charged with a felony, according to the complaint.

In a message to her ex-boyfriend, Carlquist’s father allegedly mentioned “he’s confident they can find a better solution than Stephanie facing a felony charge so no one else gets hurt.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Carlquist’s attorney.
