Joe Jonas was the subject of a new Are You Okay? man-on-the-street interview, in which he detailed an unexpectedly embarrassing moment.
The 36-year-old Jonas Brothers star recently opened up about wearing a purity ring early in his career. He was asked to share an embarrassing memory that still haunts him.
In an honest admission, he recounted a cringe-worthy moment where he mistakenly high-fived a flight attendant after joining the mile-high club.
He explained in a widely shared social media clip, “I was wearing contacts and when I left the bathroom, I thought I was giving a high-five to my drummer.”
Joe added, ‘After the high-five, I realized it was the flight attendant.’
Needless to say, the incident took place on a private aircraft otherwise, the star said, ‘I would be banned from flying.’

Joe Jonas was the subject of a new Are You Okay? man-on-the-street interview, in which he detailed an unexpectedly embarrassing moment

In a past event, Joe mentioned one of his most awkward moments was giving a flight attendant a high-five, mistakenly thinking he was greeting his band member; captured in a 2021 photo.
Despite the awkward exchange that followed, the musician said the overall experience was worth it.
During the short interview, Joe—who co-parents two young daughters with his ex-wife Sophie Turner—mentioned fans frequently ask him to photograph them with his brother Nick.
Similarly, he said whenever he gets ‘called the wrong name,’ ‘it’s always “Nick.”’
This admission follows almost a month after the DNCE frontman and his brothers Nick and Kevin discussed the pressures they faced as young men to speak openly about sex.
The siblings were guests on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast in July, where they opened up about being under a microscope early in their career.
As the musicians rose to success in the early 2000s, they came to be known for their Christian backgrounds and the fact that they regularly wore purity rings, which were intended to indicate that they didn’t plan to have premarital sex.
Joe revealed that reporters pestered them with questions about if they were waiting until marriage to have sex, and he claimed that one celebrity journalist even threatened to write that the boys were ‘in a cult’ if they refused to answer their questions.
Nick said of the industry culture at the time: ‘It wasn’t just us. It was a whole class of young people coming up.’

The confession comes nearly one month after the DNCE singer and his brothers Nick and Kevin addressed the pressure they felt at a young age to talk about sex; pictured with his brothers Nick and Kevin on August 15 in Nashville, Tenn.
He added that there’s been a shift in what’s now acceptable to ask entertainers during interviews.
‘I think it’s really a good thing,’ he said, adding, ‘Where 1755702488 it would be so outside of the realm of possibilities or something someone would do — to ask a 14-year-old about their sex life.’
On the subject of their purity rings, Joe explained that it had been ‘something in the community of [their] church where that was what everybody else was doing around 10, 11 years old.’
At the time, he said he and his brothers all decided that they wanted to ‘wait for the right person.’
And he stated that during their teenage years they did not want to discuss the topic, but felt pressured to provide what would be deemed satisfactory answers.
In addition to sex, the young men were quizzed about religion and Christianity.
