Rapper Lil Nas X was arrested and briefly took a trip to the hospital due to a suspected overdose on Thursday, according to reports from Los Angeles police. The incident occurred when he allegedly confronted officers who responded to a call about a nude individual roaming a bustling boulevard.

Lil Nas X, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing an officer and was being held in jail.

Authorities encountered him walking along Ventura Boulevard in the typically busy Studio City area around 6 a.m., as stated by Officer Charles Miller, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles police.

Upon aggressively approaching the officers, he was detained, but due to concerns about a possible drug overdose, he was initially taken to a hospital, Miller explained. While there were no updates on his condition, he was discharged from the hospital and subsequently sent to jail after a few short hours.

Video obtained by TMZ appeared to show him on the street wearing only underwear and boots.

He was being held at Valley Jail in Van Nuys, near where the police found him.

Messages to Lil Nas X representatives seeking comment were not immediately answered.

The 26-year-old artist from Atlanta rose to fame with his 2018 smash hit, “Old Town Road,” which blended elements of country and hip-hop and remained at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-setting 19 weeks.

Famous for his innovative sound and style that defies traditional genres, his debut studio album, “Montero” released in 2021, achieved No. 2 on the Billboard album chart and was in the running for a Grammy for album of the year.
