Married At First Sight star Liam Cooper asked boyfriend Samuel Levi to marry him in a heartfelt proposal on Wednesday.

The former reality TV personality, 33, proposed at the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa in Hepburn Springs, located in the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges area of Victoria.

Even after revealing their breakup in 2023, Liam surprised his partner, 32, with a simple sterling silver ring, sharing the happy moment on Instagram this past Saturday.

’20•08•25—a day I’ll never forget. I asked my best friend, my soulmate, my forever, to marry me @_samuellevi,’ Liam wrote.

‘Huge thank you to @hepburnbathhousespa for helping me arrange this, and making the surprise that extra special.’

Along with the announcement, he included hashtags: ‘#Engaged #Fiancé #ForeverAndAlways #MyBestFriend #MySoulmate #FutureHusbands #Engagement2025 #LoveStory.’

Fellow MAFS stars flocked to the comments to give their well wishes to the happy couple. 

Alyssa Barmonde from Season 10 commented, ‘I thought the last slide was a video and watched for about 3 minutes waiting for it hahaha CONGRATS.’

Season six and seven bride Lizzie Sobinoff commented: ‘The most beautiful news. Absolutely gorgeous, again congratulations.’

Season five alum Sarah Jane Roza expressed, ‘Ooooh Congratulations Lovebirds!’ and season eight participant Beth Moore exclaimed, ‘Omg congratulations you two!’

The engagement news may come as a shock to some fans who remember Liam and Samuel, who was on MAFS New Zealand, split in April 2023, after 18 months together.

‘As much as it has been for ourselves, and a sad day [sic],’ Liam penned at the time.

‘But myself and Samuel would like to just let you all know we will be taking a break on our relationship. And not moving forward as a “couple” for now.’

He continued: ‘We entered this relationship very publicly and in the public eye, which is why we also wanted to be transparent with you all.’

Despite the split, the couple remained committed to their friendship and continued to live together.

However, earlier this year Samuel confirmed the pair had rekindled their romance, telling Daily Mail they ‘sure did’ spend his birthday weekend together in April.

‘Some people walk into your life and make everything brighter—thank you to the both of you for giving me a birthday filled with love, laughter, and memories I’ll cherish forever,’ Liam captioned a carousel of photos from Phillip Island, alongside Samuel and a female friend.

‘I’m so lucky to have you both in my life. You’ve made me feel truly special, and I’ll never forget it.’

Liam first shot to fame on MAFS in 2021 when he was paired with bride Georgia Fairweather. 

His bisexuality caused problems in their relationship as she feared he wouldn’t be able to fully commit to one woman.
