Raja Jackson’s Background and MMA Career

Raja Jackson, a 25-year-old professional MMA fighter from Los Angeles, began competing professionally in 2023 after transitioning from amateur ranks. As the son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, he has carried the weight of his father’s legacy while striving to make a name for himself in the sport.

Although early in his professional career, Raja has shown promise in the cage, but recent events have shifted attention to his conduct outside it.

“Raja Jackson, professional MMA fighter and son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, has found himself at the center of intense controversy.”

The Shocking Incident at Knokx Pro Wrestling

On August 23, 2025, during a Knokx Pro Wrestling event in Los Angeles, Raja Jackson was involved in a staged match with wrestler Stuart Smith, known as Syko Stu. However, the scripted performance turned into a brutal assault when Raja delivered approximately 20 real punches to Smith, who appeared unconscious during the attack. The incident was live-streamed on Kick, leading to widespread backlash and Smith being hospitalized for treatment.

“What was supposed to be a planned and agreed upon wrestling spot, turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence against Mr. Smith.”

Reactions and Consequences

The incident prompted immediate condemnation from fans, platforms, and fellow athletes. Kick banned Raja from their streaming platform, and social media users criticized his actions. Boxer Ryan Garcia expressed outrage, calling the scene “disgusting.” Raja’s father, Rampage Jackson, publicly apologized, emphasizing that he did not condone his son’s behavior and revealing that Raja had suffered a recent concussion, which may have contributed to the poor judgment.

“I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL! He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact.”

Rampage Jackson’s Response and Family Context

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson addressed the incident on social media, expressing concern for both his son and the injured wrestler. He explained that Raja was unexpectedly hit by Smith before the match and was told he could get “payback” in the ring, but things escalated beyond the planned script. Rampage also highlighted Raja’s lack of pro wrestling experience, noting that the situation was a “work that went wrong”.

“It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong. Raja is an MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this.”
