Man arrested after assaulting, locking girlfriend in bedroom for hours: Pinellas Park police

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA)— A man has been taken into custody after attacking his girlfriend and confining her in a bedroom for several hours, according to the Pinellas Park Police Department.

Officers responded to the 4000 block of 76th Avenue on Wednesday regarding a domestic disturbance.

According to PPPD, arriving at the home, officers forced entry into a locked bedroom where both the victim and suspect were.

Upon investigation, authorities discovered that Christopher Robinson, 49, had been in a relationship with the victim, a 19-year-old woman, for approximately nine months.

Over several hours, Robinson physically assaulted the victim, threatened her with a firearm, and prevented her from leaving the home, officers said.

Throughout their relationship, Robinson also committed sexual assault against the woman while either possessing or having quick access to a firearm, as stated by the Pinellas Park police.

Robinson was arrested and charged with:

  • Sexual battery (deadly weapon)
  • Domestic battery by strangulation
  • False imprisonment
  • Felon in possession of a firearm
  • Aggravated assault

Chief Adam Geissenberger of the Pinellas Park Police Department stated, “The Pinellas Park Police Department remains steadfast in its commitment to protect victims of domestic violence and ensure perpetrators are held accountable. This case highlights the dedication of our patrol officers and detectives who worked tirelessly through the night to secure justice and the victim’s safety.”
