SAVANNAH, Ga. () — By now, Taylor Swift’s engagement to Travis Kelce has caught worldwide attention. Visit Savannah quickly extended a warm invitation, suggesting that the Hostess City would be a fantastic spot for their wedding.

The engagement announcement showcased photos of the affectionate pair and Swift’s striking 8-carat engagement ring, captioned with, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married!”

Soon after the announcement appeared on the superstar’s Instagram, Visit Savannah eagerly proposed that they consider the Coastal Empire for their wedding venue.

reached out to Visit Savannah president and CEO Joseph Marinelli and, while their post was clever, he says there is plenty of truth to it.

“We offer it all,” Marinelli stated. “Savannah is arguably one of the world’s most beautiful cities with the added bonus of a honeymoon getaway at Tybee just a short distance away. Our community is accustomed to hosting celebrities and VIPs, given the films and TV shows often shot here.”

Visit Tybee also got in on the pre-wedding planning with this post:

When asked what it would mean to the city of Savannah if Swift and Kelce choose to marry here, Marinelli good-naturedly turned the question around.

Marinelli added with a grin, “We need to see it from a different angle. Imagine what it would mean for Miss Swift and Mr. Kelsey to hold their event in Savannah. Everyone already knows and loves Savannah! Many have either visited and hope to return or have it on their bucket list.”

Though Swift and Kelce have ample time to arrange their wedding, they would not be the first celebrity couple to wed in the Coastal Empire. In August 2022, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck celebrated their nuptials at his private estate in Riceboro, Ga., with an A-list guest roster that included Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, and David Fincher.

In September 1996, John F. Kennedy, Jr. married Caroline Bessette off the coast of Georgia on Cumberland Island.

Whitefield Chapel at Bethesda Home for Boys was the location for the 2009 wedding of actress/singer Mandy Moore and singer Ryan Adams. In 2004, Bethesda was also the site of celebrity chef Paula Deen’s wedding to retired tugboat captain Michael Groover.
