JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and public intoxication in Johnson City on Tuesday night.

The Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) reported that officers were called to 607 N. Roan Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday due to a disturbance.

Witnesses had reportedly told police an intoxicated man “had pointed a pistol at a victim and demanded money,” according to the JCPD.

The individual involved was identified as Jackie Dickens, a 35-year-old from Jonesborough. JCPD officers found Dickens nearby, carrying the mentioned weapon and emitting a “strong odor of alcohol,” according to their statement.

Dickens was charged with aggravated robbery and public intoxication and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, according to the JCPD.
