'Paradise' season two: new updates on what we can expect from two of the show's stars

“Paradise” season two has just finished filming and is set to premiere on Hulu early next year. Sterling K. Brown celebrated the completion by telling fans they’re “not prepared” for what’s in store.

**WARNING, SEASON ONE SPOILER AHEAD**

The first season concluded with the discovery of Cal Bradford’s (James Marsden) murderer and Xavier Collins (Brown) leaving the safety of the bunker to search for his wife in the outside world.

Season two will welcome guest stars Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, Ryan Michelle Bathé (Brown’s wife), Michael McGrady and Timothy Omundson.

On The Red Carpet recently spoke with Krys Marshall (Agent Robinson) at the AAFCA TV Honors, where Paradise won best drama and Brown won best actor.

“Paradise” is nominated for four Emmys and all the recognition has Marshall in her feelings.

“I feel like I’ve stepped into a different realm where everything is working out for me. When I learned that Sterling was nominated, I was ecstatic, though I expected it because he’s an incredible actor. But seeing Julianne (Nicholson, who portrays Sinatra) and James, along with the entire show, get nominations, it feels overwhelming,” she expressed.

Marshall and Aliyah Mastin, who plays Collins’ daughter Presley gave some interesting hints on what’s to come.

“We’re finally going to see how life was for those outside the bunker. It’s quite astonishing,” Marshall teased. “I’d say the first episode is particularly strong. We start off with a bang!”

Marshall also sang the praises of one of her new co-stars.

“Our viewers will meet Shailene Woodley’s character, and Shailene is simply fantastic on our show. She’s an incredible addition,” she stated.

Mastin, meanwhile, doled out a little warning about an existing character.

“Watch out for Jane. That’s all I’ll say,” she teased.

Mastin knows what she’s talking about. Her character Presley was abducted by Jane (Nicole Brydon Bloom) in the first season. Jane was the one who killed her boyfriend, fellow Secret Service Agent Billy Pace (Jon Beavers), and she shot Sinatra at the end of last season. So, will Presley be in danger once more?

“A lot of people have to watch out her, Jane. She’s a bad girl!,” she said.

Noted!

Mastin also said we will see more flashbacks in season two.

“I mean Dan (Fogelman, “Paradise’s” creator and showrunner), he loves a good flashback. He’s so good at it. And we will see, you know, even another side of the day, you know the day it all happened. So I’m really excited,” she said.

On The Red Carpet caught up with Fogelman earlier this summer and he gave us some hints of his own.

“You will see more of Sinatra. She does get out of the hospital bed, so that’s a good thing,” said. “And I think there’s a lot more of an understanding of how Paradise came to be, the actual building of it, construction of it and what needed to happen in order for that to unfold,” he said.

“In the second season, we’re going to live still down there and see what happens when revolution is fermented down below. But we’re also going to see… for those who may have survived in the outside world, what were their bunkers like,” Fogelman continued. “How did other people in the outside world survive?”

As for Brown, he was all smiles when On The Red Carpet spoke to him just before filming was set to begin.

“As a fan of the show, as a fan of TV, I read it and I started doing a little dance. Like, I do a little dance because I’m like ‘oh, they don’t know what they’re about to get.’ But what they’re about to get is something dope, baby! It’s gonna be hot! It’s great. It’s great!”

You can watch season one of “Paradise” now on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
