VIDEO: Georgia man arrested for allegedly bringing marijuana, gun into county jail

BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. () – Deputies in Bryan County, Georgia have a warning to those who are coming to bail someone out of jail.

In a Facebook post, the agency said that a man was coming to bail his friend out of jail and allegedly brought suitcases full of marijuana with him.

What NOT to Do 101: Jail Edition

We don’t know who needs to hear this, but here we go!!

Step 1: Have a friend get arrested.

Step 2: Call an Uber and load yourself up to bond them out with suitcases and a duffel bag that smell like Cheech & Chong’s vacation luggage.

Step 3: Walk those bags straight across the guard lines into the jail lobby like it’s no big deal.

(Yes… this actually happened last week at the Bryan County Jail.)

Soon, everyone in the lobby became aware of the overpowering smell of marijuana emanating from this man’s belongings. Realizing the situation was out in the open (much like a skunk in daylight), he relocated everything outside the lobby, seemingly believing that moving a crime just ten feet away would be a smart move.

Enter K9 Vasko. Without missing a beat, our K9 eagerly approached the duffel bag much like a child spotting free ice cream! Inside, there was a felony-level quantity of marijuana, and to top it off, a firearm was also found.

So instead of bonding his friend out of jail, this man managed to score himself:

  • 2 counts of Crossing Guard Lines with Illegal Narcotics/Firearm(felony)
  • Felony Possession of Marijuana Over an Ounce
  • Felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

Here’s a friendly reminder: If you’re planning a visit to the Sheriff’s Office, please refrain from bringing your stash and gun. That’s not how you assist a friend in jail; that’s how you secure the cell next to theirs!
