Check your tickets! In the past week, three lottery players in the CSRA, encompassing areas in Georgia and South Carolina, each won $50,000 by narrowly missing the ever-growing Powerball jackpot.

In Aiken, a ticket was sold that won $50,000 from the Sept. 1 drawing, with the numbers being 8, 23, 25, 40, 53 with the Powerball 5.

“Make sure to check your tickets if you played Powerball® with DoublePlay® at the Circle K Stores #5351 located on E. Pine Log Rd,” announced the South Carolina Education Lottery in a Tuesday statement.

In Georgia, one lucky ticket holder matched four numbers plus the Powerball on the August 30 drawing, earning a $50,000 prize. This ticket was bought at the Food Mart on 5100 Wrightsboro Road in Grovetown. Similarly, another $50,000 winning ticket from the same drawing was sold in Evans at The Pumping Station on 5142 Washington Road.

The winning numbers for that drawing were 3, 18, 22, 27, 33 with a Powerball of 17.

The next Powerball drawing is set for Wednesday, Sept. 3, with an estimated jackpot of $1.3 billion.
