ATLANTA () – Georgia’s two U.S. senators demand the resignation or removal of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock say Kennedy is a “threat to public health” and unfit for the role.

Ossoff criticized Kennedy’s actions, citing recent turbulence at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta. Nearly 25% of the agency’s staff, including several key leaders, has been ousted.

“His confirmation by the U.S. Senate was a mistake; he must resign. Being a skeptic is one thing, but being reckless and destructive is another,” Ossoff remarked.

The senator also warned that cuts and disruptions at the CDC put children and families at risk.

“The CDC’s downfall in Georgia and the undermining of American public health threaten children and families,” Ossoff continued. “Every passing day worsens the situation. Mr. Kennedy’s incompetence is clear. This is severe mismanagement and must stop.”

Warnock shared these worries, claiming Kennedy endangers chronic disease and cancer research. He pressed President Donald Trump to dismiss Kennedy if he doesn’t resign.

The CDC, established in Atlanta in 1946, leads in public health. Due to federal budget reductions, it recently lost about 600 employees.
