Ethan Chapin’s mother has expressed her deep gratitude to the team responsible for analyzing DNA evidence on Bryan Kohberger’s knife sheath, which played a crucial role in his arrest in connection with the Idaho murders.

Othram, a forensic genetic genealogy company, meticulously developed a comprehensive DNA profile from the knife sheath used by Kohberger. This significant breakthrough helped link Kohberger to the tragic events involving Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Xana Kernodle on November 13, 2022.

“I feel forever indebted to them,” Stacy Chapin told ‘s Brian Entin.

“I constantly carry a list in my heart of individuals I am thankful for since November 13, and they have certainly earned a place on that list. It is a blessing they were able to develop something that contributed to solving our case,” she shared.

Police interviews with Kohberger’s former cellmates were released this week as part of a 556-page document release related to the convicted murderer.

In an interview conducted with the Idaho State Police and the FBI, two inmates from the Latah County jail, whose identities remain confidential, talked about their encounters with Kohberger. They noted his keen interest in the trial of Alex Murdaugh.

Additionally, digital forensic professionals Heather and Jared Barnhart revealed on “Banfield” that Kohberger’s mother had texted him prior to his arrest about the murder of four University of Idaho students.
