EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Mexican authorities have expelled an American citizen wanted on drug charges and other crimes in the United States.

On Saturday night, agents from the National Migration Institute (INM) and the state police of Chihuahua turned over a woman, identified only as Kasey S., to U.S. authorities at the Stanton Street Bridge in El Paso.

The woman, aged 44, is suspected of fleeing to Mexico to evade prosecution on charges related to narcotics importation and organized criminal activities, according to Chihuahua police.

Law enforcement officers in Juarez, Mexico, received information as part of a binational cooperation agreement with the U.S. to locate the fugitive.

Photographs released by the Chihuahua Attorney General’s Office depict officers from Customs and Border Protection, as well as agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations, taking custody of the fugitive at the international border crossing.

“The Attorney General’s Office remains committed to collaborating and participating in binational efforts to combat and eradicate high-threat crimes,” stated the Chihuahua AG’s Office in their release.

Mexico does not release the full name of suspected criminals.
