LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. () — Liberty County schools officially have a new superintendent, officials confirmed Tuesday night.
The Liberty County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Debra Frazier as superintendent, a role she will hold through June 2026.
Frazier returned from retirement to take on the role of interim superintendent after Franklin Perry stepped down in June. Perry had been in his position since 2018 before deciding to retire.
Though she retired, she is no stranger to Liberty County schools and has been part of the school system since 1984.
Throughout her career in education, she held the principal position at both middle and high schools, and eventually became a leadership coach and mentor.
Genese Baker, director of public relations for Liberty County Schools, stated that the board will continue the search for Frazier’s permanent replacement at a future time.
