A shooting incident at a high school in the Denver area resulted in three teenagers being critically injured, including the alleged shooter, according to authorities.
The event unfolded at around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado. All the injured, who were transported to the hospital, are believed to be students, as reported by the Associated Press, referencing Jacki Kelley, spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis shared on X, “I am staying updated on the situation at Evergreen High School. State Troopers are assisting local law enforcement in managing this situation. It’s crucial that students can attend school safely, free from fear, throughout our state and country. Our thoughts are with the victims and the whole community.”

Over 100 police officers from the Denver region were deployed to the high school incident, which serves over 900 students. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, noted for their involvement in the 1999 Columbine High School tragedy where 14 individuals were killed, led the response, AP reported.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
