Costco announces recall on its Dubai Style Chocolate

Costco Issues Recall for Dubai Style Chocolate

(NewsNation) — Costco has announced a recall of its popular Dubai Style Chocolate, according to a Sept. 4 company announcement.

Rolling Pin is recalling their chocolates because there was a mistake in the allergen statement. The packaging erroneously mentions gluten as an allergen, when it should state wheat instead.

They were sold between May 1 and August 29 at select Costco locations and contain item code #1932972 above the bar code on each package.

Costco has assessed that the health risks related to this recall are minimal. This is because gluten is included in the allergen information, and gluten is a component of wheat. Furthermore, the ingredient list mentions Kunefa, a known wheat-containing food, which further clarifies the presence of wheat in the product.

The company advises households with wheat allergies who bought the recalled product to contact their local Costco for a refund.

For questions or concerns, consumers can contact Rolling Pin at 833-331-2993 during standard business hours.
