An Adelaide barbershop has been targeted in an arson attack, just months after the same business was sprayed with bullets in a terrifying drive-by shooting.
Emergency services were called to KJ Barbers on Hawson Avenue in North Plympton in the early hours of the morning after reports of a fire.
The arsonist is believed to have gained entry through the back door, using a jerrycan to ignite the shop.Â
Fire crews managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring businesses. The damage inside the barber shop is estimated to be worth $100,000.
This incident follows a drive-by shooting in February, during which the barber shop was riddled with bullet holes.Â
The owner of KJ Barbers, who was too distressed to speak on camera, has been forced to turn away customers.
Residents have expressed concern following the latest incident.Â
“There’s a bit of fear around, people are a little bit nervous. Especially the second time,” said one neighbour.Â
“Terrible, must be some underworld, but I think someone should take this seriously,” said another.
It’s unclear how long the barbershop will remain closed for business
