CCPD investigating online warrant scam

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. — The Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) reported on Monday that they have made three arrests in different entering auto cases since September 11.

Antonio James Griffin, aged 21, was arrested and charged on September 11 in one of 13 incidents that took place that day in the areas surrounding Johnny Mercer and Bryan Woods. Griffin faces charges for felony possession of tools for committing a crime, felony theft by receiving stolen property, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana under one ounce.

On September 13, 38-year-old Robert Pete Skrine was arrested and faced charges including a felony count of entering a vehicle with intent to commit theft or another felony, as well as a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass. Skrine’s arrest was linked to an entering auto incident at a convenience store located on 1 Diamond Causeway in Sandfly.

The morning of September 14 saw CCPD officers detain Raijon Lamar Ross, 31, in the 800 block of Quacco Rd. He was apprehended after reports of him going through a vehicle, leading to a felony charge of entering an automobile with the intent to commit theft or another felony.

Police are seeking additional information on these cases. Tip-offs can be submitted anonymously via the Chatham County Police Department app or through the Department’s online tip form.
