Sophie opted for a vegetarian lifestyle at about 14 and transitioned entirely to plant-based by 16. Regarding her entry into cooking, Sophie shared with the BBC: “I picked up some fundamentals while cooking with my parents, but my dad loved meat and wasn’t well-versed in plant-based cuisine, so I had to take charge. His reaction was like, ‘Well, if you want to be vegetarian, you can fend for yourself!’ So, I did.”

“After that, I began experimenting with a variety of recipes and delving into vegan cooking. I just became enamored with it. It’s where I feel most at ease, unless the kitchen is in chaos! It’s almost meditative for me.”

Born and raised in Essex, Sophie now resides in London with her best friend Mara and her border terrier Stanley. Her boyfriend, Charlie, is based in Manchester. She is also an assistant colorist in post-production.
