Former Daycare Worker Pleads Guilty to Kicking Toddlers More Than 100 Times

A former Texas daycare worker pleaded guilty Tuesday to abusing children in her care that was caught on surveillance video.

Catherine Elizabeth Guziejka admitted guilt to six counts of child injury, as reported by KLTV. While a sentencing date has yet to be determined, her attorneys have requested a 10-year sentence for each count to be served concurrently.

An arrest affidavit said that Guziejka was seen in security footage kicking toddlers in more than 100 incidents dating back to July 2024.

The investigation was initiated when a fellow employee at Punkin’ Doodles Day Care in Lindale checked security footage and observed Guziejka kicking a 2-year-old boy in the back. The coworker informed the boy’s father, who then notified the authorities.

A deputy subsequently reviewed the footage and discovered numerous similar incidents. In every case, Guziejka was observed giving a forceful kick to the child’s back, causing the toddler to cry out in distress.
