President Donald Trump spoke at the memorial for the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, promising that Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA, will “grow bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.”
“Charlie is more significant today than he was. Just consider, merely two weeks ago—he is more significant today than back then. This may not alleviate the pain for his friends and loved ones, especially Erika and those beautiful children who are enduring such hardship at this time. However, they know it’s a fact,” stated the president.
“He’s more influential now than ever, and he’s eternal. He’s eternal. I want to express that we love him, and he’s watching us from above right now, observing, ‘wow, that’s an impressive gathering,'” he continued. “It’s a gathering of patriots. Therefore, I will soon be bestowing upon Charlie the nation’s highest civilian honor: the Presidential Medal of Freedom.”
The president concluded his speech by acknowledging Charlie Kirk’s exceptional creation with Turning Point USA and reaffirmed his commitment that it will “grow bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.”
“Charlie brought something special into being—Turning Point USA. Under Erika’s leadership and affection, it will grow bigger, better, and stronger than ever. So, Charlie, we all wish to extend our gratitude,” he said.
Charlie Kirk, 31, was tragically shot while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on September 10. He is survived by his wife Erika and their two children.
The memorial at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, was attended by tens of thousands of people — a noteworthy turnout considering that Kirk’s assassination occurred just 11 days prior.
