Country Club Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Wounded

A 23-year-old man is charged with murder after he opened fire at a New Hampshire country club where he once worked, killing one and wounding two.

Hunter Nadeau has been charged with the murder of 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare, according to WCVB. During the incident, both a restaurant worker and another customer were wounded. Additionally, four other individuals suffered injuries amid the chaos.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office stated that Nadeau entered the venue and began shooting with a handgun. Authorities apprehended him in a nearby neighborhood shortly afterward.

John Formella, the New Hampshire Attorney General, mentioned that some eyewitnesses reported hearing the shooter yell statements such as “the kids are OK” and “Free Palestine.” Despite this, investigators do not believe Nadeau acted out of political motive.

“Currently, there is no evidence to suggest Mr. Nadeau had hate-based motives,” Formella said. “In fact, it seems more plausible that Mr. Nadeau intended to create a scenario of chaos through his declarations during the incident.”

The shooting took place at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday at a restaurant at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua during a wedding reception, WBTS reported.

Formella said there is no indication that Nadeau and DeCesare were acquainted.

Nadeau has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, but more charges are expected. He is set to be arraigned on Monday.
