JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A woman was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault after an alleged stabbing occurred on Friday afternoon, according to the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD).

A release from the JCPD said the alleged stabbing was reported at approximately 4:20 p.m. Friday in the area of North Roan Street and Lambeth Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a man suffering from multiple “severe” lacerations, and he was immediately taken to a local hospital for medical care. The JCPD stated that witnesses present at the scene had held the suspect, identified as Brittney Corby, 40, of Johnson City, until police arrived.

The report indicated that the JCPD charged Corby with aggravated assault and took her to the Washington County Detention Center. The JCPD did not disclose the bond amount.

The release said the JCPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.
